Job Summary
The engineer is responsible for assessing quality of the graphical user
interface (GUI) components of the Sun Studio product line. This job fits
into the overall testing efforts focused on the ongoing development
of the entire Sun Studio software bundle and is governed by the single
standard of quality.

Job Description
This position is a software quality engineer responsible for the Sun Studio
GUI support. Technical analytical skills are required and a background in
testing methodologies.

Responsibilities include:
* software defects tracking and management
* test development and maintenance
* regular test runs and analysis
* development and maintenance of internal tools and harnesses

Required Knowledge and skills:
* Basic knowledge of the software quality engineering technologies
* Understanding of Solaris and Linux operating systems
* Strong background in the Java technology
* Familiarity with GUI automation software
* Ability to use and produce UNIX shell scripts
* Familiarity with the Solaris make, sccs and Sun TeamWare
* Experience in verbal and written communication in English

Preferred knowledge and skills:
* Excellent teamwork skills, orientate quickly in an unknown area to
find possible solutions for a problem
* Basic awareness of the Sun Studio product line and competitive products
