Team/Department Mission
To create a loyal and valuable user experience built on relevant, credible and timely information and services with the goal of becoming the leading portal of choice.
Role Purpose
As a member of the team you will focus on delivery of all consumer facing online solutions for MSN Russia. This includes the MSN RU portal and associated advertising and partner solutions which may be closely or loosely coupled to the portal.
This role forms part of the Technical Development team and acts as the RU Market (OSG Russia) technical point of contact.
Key Accountabilities
• Building out new pages & channels, to specification, then handing over to editors to populate with content.
• Integrate 3rd party partner-hosted solutions, to our specifications, compliant with our policies.
• Work with the Market PM and partners to integrate data feed content into the MSN portal.
• Deployment of new features/capabilities onto the live site.
• Providing technical subject matter information to portal team and partners (should this be “to our partners”) to assist during strategic initiatives.
• Resolving live site issues when they occur either locally or by escalation to remote 24x7 teams.
• Performing local development where required to develop solutions and integrate partners into the MSN portal.
• Adding new features/capabilities to the feature catalogue in anticipation of deployment.
• Training & supporting the editorial teams on the implementation of new features
• Maintain Content Management System permissions.
• Be the escalation point for troubleshooting issues with partner provided services and non-operational issues
• Tactical changes to the site.
• Implement and support the tracking and collection of traffic data
Key Success Criteria
• Enable the MSN RU Market achieve their PV/UU and Sales targets in a timely fashion by leveraging the capabilities of our products and platforms
• Design of technical solutions that comply with Microsoft best practice
• Delivery of partner solutions and content, compliant to Microsoft standards and policies
• Delivery of features and projects on time and to specification
• Complete understanding of the platforms, products used by the organisation
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
1) Essential Experience
• Ideal candidate will have 2 — 3 years online experience working on high visibility online applications and services, preferably in a fast-paced publishing environment. The candidate must have deep experience in building sites and pages from templates in content management systems.
• Experience working as a Web-developer is an advantage.
2) Technical / Functional Skills
• Experience implementing and troubleshooting feed formats such as XML, and also knowledge of the common web programming languages such as JavaScript, CSS, DHTML
• Excellent awareness and appreciation of the processes required to deliver online media projects and portals
• Solid understanding of web-based technologies, both client and server side such as Flash, Video, Mobile, with Microsoft technologies, such as Silverlight being an advantage
• Excellent broad and deep understanding of online technologies gained through several years of experience of working in the online sector, preferably through working on projects that involved one or more of the following: C#, ASP.NET, XML/XSLT, HTML/DHTML/CSS (inc AJAX), IIS with multiple browser types and configurations.

4) Qualifications
• Suitable qualifications, such as BS, in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
Special Requirements/Additional Information
• Intermediate level of English
• Experience of working in an international environment a plus
• Must have an international Passport (or ready to get one in a short time)
